April 2010 and beyond…
April 26, 2010 by christian
I realize that we have been lacking in the posting dept. To be honest it is quite difficult to keep up in the blogosphere. I felt like I needed to connect today due to the fact that I came across a video of C and A at VBS last year. They were singing This Little Light of Mine…and they were so very cute. A is in a onesie cause he is just a little guy, and C has long hair and just looks so very cute. Since we cut her hair, she just looks so grown up to me. So, I thought it time to record a little snapshot of what has been happening over at CampWeber.
So in order to respect your time, and attention span, I will try to stick to the highlights. Some of you might have heard about our unwanted rat in the house. Well the kids and I were victorious in killing the rat that wanted to live in our house! I was doing laundry (in the garage) and I felt a scamper straight across my foot!! I totally freaked out and started screaming and ran in the house. C and A looked at me like I was crazy and immediately started screaming along with me. They weren’t quite sure what the heck was going on. I was all shaky and I told them about the rat in the garage. We decided to call daddy at work to tell us what we should do. I really wanted to just tell him to come home and get the thing. He said to get the bb gun and shoot it. I was not sure about that, especially since I hadn’t exactly talked to the kids about death, much less shooting something…C decided it was a bit much for her, so she stayed firmly on the couch in the next room. A, however, wanted nothing more than to be the shooter. He would not leave my side! So we pumped up the bb gun, got down on the floor, and after I figured out how to get the safety completely off, we shot that rat! A was so happy about the sound of the gun. He thought it was hilarious, and C was excited that it wouldn’t be in the house anymore. We left it in the garage for daddy to clean up later. It was the highlight of our week.
March brought the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. I was nervous to bring the kids cause…well…it is just alot’o work. BUT for the sake of the kids and a new experience, we braved the crowds to check it out…TWICE! The kids loved the animals of course, and I think A most enjoyed seeing the cows. They were giant, and he was in awe. C shocked the pants off me cause she loved the animals, but we took them to the carnival, and she rode a roller coaster BY HERSELF for the first time. Such a big girl. It was a little sad for me when she looked at me and said, “No, mom, I’m ok by myself” and walked with all the confidence in the world with the carny to her flying elephant. I may or may not have had tears in my eyes. You will never know. I know that being pregnant and all I may be a tad more emotional, but my girl is so big!
The next time we went, A got to ride the ride, and he was in complete heaven. I was so happy for him that he got to go with his sister. He just wants to be a big boy. He will be the brother that antagonizes his sisters for sure though. His favorite thing to do is to pick up C’s favorite toy, get her attention, and when she starts to scream, he runs. He doesn’t even care about the toy…he just wants to get on her nerves. He is definitely a stinker! His nose has been running, so I have to sneak attack to wipe his nose. The minute he sees me even pick up a kleenex, he starts running from me. I have to pretend that I am not going to wipe his nose. Otherwise, I risk snot being wiped all over my couches or beds as he is screaming and running from me!
April has proved to be a rough month for C and A. C because she has, poor thing, fallen into things more than she ever has in her life. Her poor legs are all bruised from the amount of tripping she has done, and in the past couple of weeks, her head has gotten the brunt of the accidents. The first happened when her aunt was watching her…they were having a dance party, and in the middle of a pirouette, she spun herself right into the corner of a wall. She totally nailed her forehead! My sis calls me ” OMG what do I do?” And I just said if she isn’t bleeding (which she wasn’t), and her eyes aren’t rolling into her head or throwing up (which she wasn’t) then she was prolly fine. I told Rebecca to ask C to count to five and tell her the dog’s name. So we got off the phone, and a little while later, I get a text from Rebecca “I think C is fine, I asked her to count to five, and she told me that was only a little bit and she could count higher than that. I think she is fine”. I cracked up laughing because that is so C. So poor thing has a giant green bruise on her forehead that extends down into her left eye. The next week she does another piroutte, and slips into a coffee table, missing her right eye by an eighth of an inch. She now has a nice shiner on her right eye to match the one on her left. Thank goodness we aren’t planning family pictures this week! Life has also been rough for A. He is learning the boundaries of life in the Weber family. It is so funny when kids begin to exert their independence and the fits start to fly. They get all worked up like they are going to explode, and then the wrath comes out. Poor guy hasn’t really thought these through though cause his fit starts and he just throws himself down. No matter what is behind him or how hard the floor is. Once he hurts himself in the midst of the fit, he wants me to hold and comfort him. What the what? You throw yourself down cause you are mad at me, and then I am supposed to comfort you? I don’t think so buddy! The other thing he learned this month…to cross his arms in frustration. He huffs and puffs and crosses his arms! Stinker.
Well, I have officially lost every single reader that might have started reading this, and that is ok. If you made it this far, I know you love me…Rebecca! I hope you enjoyed all 1211 words of this blog. Man…that is what my BS degree is good for right there!
If you are still bored, then check out our updated pictures!

Weber3.0
March 30, 2010 by ben
Today we did confirm that Weber 3.0 is in fact a little girl. Chloe is thrilled that she will have a baby sister and is already planning what the new baby will like. The list already includes purple, butterflies, and Star Wars. But not Ewoks, seeing as Chloe is a little unsure of them still. Atticus is a little bruiser right now and will be a great brother for two girls. If things keep going the way they have, he will be large and protective.
Next few steps in the CampWeber extravaganza we call life:
1) Nest
2) Pick Weber 3.0’s Name
3) Acquire Baby clothes and bedding
4) Nest
5) Try not to lose my hair
Pray for sanity

OMG
February 22, 2010 by ben
Christian has been out of town or out of pocket for WAYYYYYYY too long. Between 2 conferences, a board meeting, and all the over the top preparation she puts in, it feels as though she has been gone since Christmas. The kids and I (Ben) have been getting a lot of time together, which is NOT as cheery as it may sound. we are all tired and getting over illness. On the plus side, my authoritative “dadness” has taken a huge step up. Both kids spent time in time-out tonight as I got dinner together and they were both in bed well before out normal bed time. But I think we might make it through this period. Christian should be home with us by Saturday…. only 4 more days of this.
I did spend some time on Sunday painting Chloe’s nails. Although she had chewed off all the color by the time she took a bath. But not before I snapped proof of my awesome “dadness.”
Work is fine right now, but I need a vacation from the rest of life. Oh well, I guess college is just around the corner… t-minus 15 years?

December is here and I smell change
December 9, 2009 by christian
The other night, I was sleeping, that really dead-to-the-world sleep that you only get so often…you know…the one that you hope for but never get??? Yes, thats the one. Atticus started crying at about 1 AM, and amazingly it only woke me. Did I ever tell you about Ben’s passive aggressive side? Oh he has one… Anyway, I open my eyes, unsure of where I am, and feeling slightly drunk. I stumble out of bed, and knocking into furniture finally get to his room. I soothe my poor baby, lay him back down and then run back to bed to catch the elusive deep sleep before it vanishes like girl scout cookies. Fortunately, I was able to slide right back to where I started. Sometime later in the morning, I feel a cold wet something on my face. The. Ding. Dang. Dog. How dare he come over to my side of the bed and attempt to sabotage my sleep (I was in the middle of perfecting the new Waffle-Fry-Look)? I quickly reached my hand out to tell him who’s boss, and slapped him across the face. (This story is going somewhere, I promise).
All of a sudden I hear this small little cry followed up with an accusatory “YOU HIT ME” and muffled sobbing. Picture the cutest little girl glaring at you and holding the side of her head…It took me a moment to surface to realize what had just happened. I gathered all my thoughts and realized that I had just slapped Chloe straight upside the head. All I could say was ” Oh no, Oh no, OH NO” over and over. I grabbed her up into the bed and pulled her close while repeating, “I am so sorry!!” I didn’t know it was her, I thought she was the dog! BTW, trying to explain to your three yr. old why you would slap her beloved dog is another story all together. She was severely offended, and rightfully so. All I could do was apologize and hug her. She seems alright, however, I did notice that when she comes in my room in the middle of the night, she stays just out of arms reach.
I win Mother of the Year Award.
P.S. Atticus’ favorite word is “Mine” which he has definitely grasped the definition of. That boy is so cuddly and sweet, he kisses me on command (I’m soaking it up).

Halloween and a RAWK Star
November 8, 2009 by ben
I don’t think life will ever slow down. We running constantly. Late for everything, always messy, sometimes crying, and covered in drool. The kids are growing like weeds. Atticus is a very different kids than Chloe. He is becoming a little man with no sense of danger. His vocabulary is expanding rapidly. He can now say; dog, Moose, Mom, Dad, Please, More, Ta-Tart (pop tart), Cup, eat, Poppa, Becca, Goose, Lamb, Duck, More, and more. I am sure I am missing something, but everyday it seems he learns another word.
The last few weeks included a wedding, a trip to a couple farms, and lots of dancing and body slamming. Tonight we are off to the theater to see Marry Poppins with almost the entire Weber family, sans Mar, Atticus, and Quade.
I am sure all of you don’t watch our Flickr updates, so here are a few highlights.

Fall is in the air
October 20, 2009 by christian
We have done our official “Welcome Fall” by going to the Oil Ranch out in Cypress. I really couldn’t tell who was more excited, me or the kids. I love to be outside and just let the kids have the freedom to run til their heart’s content. There were so many activities, and knowing how much they loved animals I knew it would be a blast. I like going in October because the kids get to pick out a pumpkin from the patch to bring home. We now have two cute pumpkins on our front porch! I think Ben posted some pictures from the day. One of my favorite memories was getting to watch Atticus feed cows for the first time. They gave us these little pellets and told us to put them in our flat palm so that the cow didn’t bite us. Try telling that to my 15 mo. old who would rather put his entire hand into the cow’s mouth. He did it twice, and both times his hand came out with long spit strings attached. Needless to say, we needed purel stat!
They got to ride horses, a train and sit on a tractor. We ate snow cones, pet donkeys, and ran relay races. They climbed and got lost in a mini maze (it was low to the ground made with hay bales). It truly was the perfect day…until the next day when I realized that mom (yeah, that’s me) forgot to put sunscreen on my poor trusting children. That’s right, I admit it. Chloe and I had faint crimson coloring on our faces, but my poor boy had the worst burn ever…blisters and all. I feel horrible. How could I have let this happen? He doesn’t seem to be bothered by it though, so I think I’ll make it thru. I really can’t wait to do it all again, except this time I’ll remember the sunscreen!
We are gearing up for the next couple events, Ben and I are going to Federicksburg for the weekend and Uncle Ben and Aunt Becca are coming to hang out. I am gathering that it might be our last chance for awhile cause Chloe and Atticus are getting much more active and a little exhausting for the average person. I have faith everyone will be ok, bruises not withstanding.
After that Hannah and Brett are getting married! So we have been a little busy around here. In between these two events is Halloween though and I have been working on Chloe’s costume…she will be a princess this year, and Atticus is going to be a dragon (as if he could be anything else??). I am excited to get to see them in their costumes, and to let Chloe eat candy…I will have to test it first though, to make sure it tastes good 🙂

Atticus finally got a hair cut! His hair no longer blows in the wind :). I’ll take a picture of that too. He is getting to be such a big boy.

I know…its JULY!
July 16, 2009 by christian
So with adding a second kid, we are doing good to just take pictures! I was thinking the other day about this blog, and the fact that we haven’t posted in a while…so here I am.
I had to log in as Ben because I couldn’t remember my username or password. So in case ou were reading this and thinking “This doesn’t sound like Ben”, it isn’t.
Ben is reading a story to Chloe and I am waiting for my turn to go up and say goodnight. Atticus and Chloe both have birthdays this month…so our house is swirling with activity. We are getting ready to have a double party. Chloe is very excited. She is going to have a pink monkey on a purple cake. Atticus will have a green dragon on a blue cake. I have to admit I will be happy when the party is done.
I thought since it appears that we are not posting as often as we would like…I will just post some highlights from the past couple of months.
1. Ben came downstairs one morning with a splitting headache. Chloe asked what was wrong, so Ben told her and then asked if she would pray and ask Jesus to take it away. So she did. Then after a second she looked a little disappointed and she turned to Ben and said…Jesus said NO! It was hilarious!
2. Atticus is trying to walk. He is climbing the stairs, and everything he can put his hands on. He is scaring me. He has also been teething something fierce. He has six teeth, and is trying to get more…hopefully they come soon.
3. Atticus started saying uh oh. His favorite thing to do is throw things on the floor and say uh oh. We can only play so much of that game before the object disappears.
There is so much more that goes on. Between dishes, laundry, cleaning, working and wiping sludge and slobber off of everything, I cannot remember every cool thing that happens. That, actually is a bummer because there is ALOT of cool things that happen and make me laugh. That makes all the sludge worth it.

Ch, ch, ch, changes
March 20, 2009 by ben
We have had a ton going on the past few weeks. I, Ben, resigned from the church and took a job a small valve company. We also has a crazy offer by an ex-neighbor to buy our house. So… We move next weekend. I will try to post picks of the new house as soon as I can get in.
News on the kids:
Chloe is getting more and more articulate. She is very aware of what is going on and constantly asks what we are talking about. It has made our conversations much more difficult.Atticus really really wants to walk. When he sees other kids playin he gets super excited and starts flapping his arms. Maybe he will fly soon? He is still drooling a ton.
