So I happened to notice that we were horrible at updating and posting until we got Instagram. Now we seem to be posting multiple times every month. If you happen to still be following this blog, chances are that you really love us and are also getting our Instagram pics – sorry for the Weber Spam.
The thing is, this blog is not only to share the tidbits of things that are happening in our lives, but a way to hopefully record a couple of the highlights that we never want to forget.
Several years ago, my sister in law gave us a large ruler that you hang on the wall. It was for us to record our kids heights on and watch them grow. This way we could move it from house to house and still have the record. Hanging it got put on the back burner and there it stayed. We have had 2 kids and moved houses since then.
Recently a friend moved out of her house (both of her kids are in college now) and she took a picture of the markings on the inside of her pantry door. She showed it to me and I instantly wanted to tear up. I want that for my family. Those milestones that are passing before my eyes.
Today, I dug out all the yearly check up stats that the doc gives me at the kids check ups. I dug out that ruler that I had always wanted to hang, and I measured out my kids heights on it since age 2. I hung it up and can’t wait for the kids to come home and see it.
Did you know that between the ages of 3 and 4 my son grew almost 4 inches!! I didn’t either.
