I realize that we have been lacking in the posting dept. To be honest it is quite difficult to keep up in the blogosphere. I felt like I needed to connect today due to the fact that I came across a video of C and A at VBS last year. They were singing This Little Light of Mine…and they were so very cute. A is in a onesie cause he is just a little guy, and C has long hair and just looks so very cute. Since we cut her hair, she just looks so grown up to me. So, I thought it time to record a little snapshot of what has been happening over at CampWeber.
So in order to respect your time, and attention span, I will try to stick to the highlights. Some of you might have heard about our unwanted rat in the house. Well the kids and I were victorious in killing the rat that wanted to live in our house! I was doing laundry (in the garage) and I felt a scamper straight across my foot!! I totally freaked out and started screaming and ran in the house. C and A looked at me like I was crazy and immediately started screaming along with me. They weren’t quite sure what the heck was going on. I was all shaky and I told them about the rat in the garage. We decided to call daddy at work to tell us what we should do. I really wanted to just tell him to come home and get the thing. He said to get the bb gun and shoot it. I was not sure about that, especially since I hadn’t exactly talked to the kids about death, much less shooting something…C decided it was a bit much for her, so she stayed firmly on the couch in the next room. A, however, wanted nothing more than to be the shooter. He would not leave my side! So we pumped up the bb gun, got down on the floor, and after I figured out how to get the safety completely off, we shot that rat! A was so happy about the sound of the gun. He thought it was hilarious, and C was excited that it wouldn’t be in the house anymore. We left it in the garage for daddy to clean up later. It was the highlight of our week.
March brought the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. I was nervous to bring the kids cause…well…it is just alot’o work. BUT for the sake of the kids and a new experience, we braved the crowds to check it out…TWICE! The kids loved the animals of course, and I think A most enjoyed seeing the cows. They were giant, and he was in awe. C shocked the pants off me cause she loved the animals, but we took them to the carnival, and she rode a roller coaster BY HERSELF for the first time. Such a big girl. It was a little sad for me when she looked at me and said, “No, mom, I’m ok by myself” and walked with all the confidence in the world with the carny to her flying elephant. I may or may not have had tears in my eyes. You will never know. I know that being pregnant and all I may be a tad more emotional, but my girl is so big!
The next time we went, A got to ride the ride, and he was in complete heaven. I was so happy for him that he got to go with his sister. He just wants to be a big boy. He will be the brother that antagonizes his sisters for sure though. His favorite thing to do is to pick up C’s favorite toy, get her attention, and when she starts to scream, he runs. He doesn’t even care about the toy…he just wants to get on her nerves. He is definitely a stinker! His nose has been running, so I have to sneak attack to wipe his nose. The minute he sees me even pick up a kleenex, he starts running from me. I have to pretend that I am not going to wipe his nose. Otherwise, I risk snot being wiped all over my couches or beds as he is screaming and running from me!
April has proved to be a rough month for C and A. C because she has, poor thing, fallen into things more than she ever has in her life. Her poor legs are all bruised from the amount of tripping she has done, and in the past couple of weeks, her head has gotten the brunt of the accidents. The first happened when her aunt was watching her…they were having a dance party, and in the middle of a pirouette, she spun herself right into the corner of a wall. She totally nailed her forehead! My sis calls me ” OMG what do I do?” And I just said if she isn’t bleeding (which she wasn’t), and her eyes aren’t rolling into her head or throwing up (which she wasn’t) then she was prolly fine. I told Rebecca to ask C to count to five and tell her the dog’s name. So we got off the phone, and a little while later, I get a text from Rebecca “I think C is fine, I asked her to count to five, and she told me that was only a little bit and she could count higher than that. I think she is fine”. I cracked up laughing because that is so C. So poor thing has a giant green bruise on her forehead that extends down into her left eye. The next week she does another piroutte, and slips into a coffee table, missing her right eye by an eighth of an inch. She now has a nice shiner on her right eye to match the one on her left. Thank goodness we aren’t planning family pictures this week! Life has also been rough for A. He is learning the boundaries of life in the Weber family. It is so funny when kids begin to exert their independence and the fits start to fly. They get all worked up like they are going to explode, and then the wrath comes out. Poor guy hasn’t really thought these through though cause his fit starts and he just throws himself down. No matter what is behind him or how hard the floor is. Once he hurts himself in the midst of the fit, he wants me to hold and comfort him. What the what? You throw yourself down cause you are mad at me, and then I am supposed to comfort you? I don’t think so buddy! The other thing he learned this month…to cross his arms in frustration. He huffs and puffs and crosses his arms! Stinker.
Well, I have officially lost every single reader that might have started reading this, and that is ok. If you made it this far, I know you love me…Rebecca! I hope you enjoyed all 1211 words of this blog. Man…that is what my BS degree is good for right there!
If you are still bored, then check out our updated pictures!
I love the stories and life in the Weber house. You guys are so precious to me!!!
